Injured at Sea?
Do These Things Now!
Your first actions can affect your health, safety, and legal rights. Follow these steps, stay calm, and contact us if you need immediate guidance.

Get to Safety
Move away from immediate danger if you can do so safely. If you are seriously injured or in danger, seek emergency medical assistance first.
Get Medical Attention
Report your injury and ask to be examined. Explain every symptom clearly, even if it seems minor now. If possible, keep copies or photos of your medical records.
Report What Happened
Make sure the incident is officially recorded. Ask for a copy of any accident, injury, security, or medical report you are asked to sign.
Take Photos — They Matter
If it is safe and appropriate, use your phone to take clear photos and videos of the scene, your injuries, damaged equipment, unsafe conditions, and anything else that could later change, disappear, or be repaired.
Take more than you think you need. Photograph the wider scene as well as important details. What is visible today may not be there tomorrow.
Write Down the Details
While everything is still fresh, note the time, place, what happened, and who was there. Save the names and contact details of anyone who witnessed the incident.
Your memory may become less precise with time. A simple note made now can be important later.
Don't Sign What You Don't Understand
You may be asked to give a statement, sign documents, accept payment, or agree to something quickly. Read everything carefully.
If you do not understand what you are being asked to sign, seek independent advice before signing whenever circumstances allow.
Keep Everything
Save your employment contract, medical documents, accident reports, emails, messages, photographs, videos, travel records, payslips, and any communication related to what happened.
Don't delete anything — even if it seems unimportant now.
Contact Someone You Trust
Tell someone you trust what happened and where you are. Send them copies of important photos, documents, and messages if appropriate.
When you are injured, under pressure, or far from home, you should not have to manage everything alone.
Do these things first. They can protect you now — and your rights later. We'll be here for what comes next.
Something Happened. You're Not Sure What to Do Next?
You don't need to know which law applies. You don't need to know whether you have a case. And you don't need to have all your documents ready.
Tell us what happened. We can help you understand what your next step should be and connect you with appropriate legal support when needed.
We can help assess situations involving injuries at sea, cruise ship accidents, sexual assault, unsafe working conditions, medical treatment concerns, wrongful death, yacht accidents, FlowRider accidents, and other serious maritime incidents.
